Kids of Himalaya is a non-political, non-profit, non-religious, non-governmental organization (NGO) registered with the Government of Nepal and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council under the Social Welfare Act 1992.

It is officially recognized by the Government of Nepal and validated by the Project Agreement signed between the Social Welfare Council of Nepal and Kids of Himalaya in April 2015.
