2012- Gabriela from Germany first visits Nepal and meets PassangDhondup Lama, founder of Kids of Himalaya. In the same year, Steve from WorldWide Education Partnerships for Nepal (WWEP) in the USA visits Nepal and initiates the programs for the Mendo Village School in Rasuwa.
2013- Passang Dhondup Lama begins Kids of Himalaya Nepal’s first projects, the Conscience Primary School (CPS) in Kathmandu and the Mendo Village School in Mendo, Rasuwa. At first there were only 26 children at CPS with the help from Einfach Machen e V. Germany sponsors and 40 children in the Mendo School with the support from WWEP.
2014- Katja joins with Gabriela and together found the German based NGO Einfach Machen to support CPS with the long term sustainability of the project.
2015- Du Bessin au Nepal and L'arche de Dolanji- France, both from France, become CPS project partners. They bring the first child, Jalmati Bika from Dorpatan, to CPS and sponsor her. In the following year they find eight individual sponsors and sponsor eight children at CPS.
2015-Saraswati Organisation Nepal becomes a partner of CPS and supports 12 children.
2015- Hans Himmelreich, our Netherlands representative, supports children from the village of Timure, now attending CPS after the earthquake destroyed their village community school. He sponsors four children in 2015 and two children in 2016.
2016- Kids of Himalaya support 67 children at the Conscience Primary School Home, one child at Namgyal Higher Secondary School and one child at Namgyal Middle School. In total, we are currently supporting 69 children.
2016- We rebuild the earthquake-damaged Mendo Village School with funding provided through support from WWEP. A classroom library is also been created in the Mendo Village School as part of this reconstruction.
